What am I about? That is a good question. I was hesitant to start this section because I was afraid that people would be bored listening to me talk about myself. This may very well happen with some of you, but then again, what are blogs for right? Anyways.. I’ve found that people who have only known me as an adult, don’t believe me when I tell them about my early years. I’m not sure why.
Here are some of my childhood recollections (good and bad):
~ripping every single GI Joe my brother owned in half. (Some of you have heard those stories.)
~Having no clue why I was in kindergarten. ALL I KNEW, was that my backpack was lavender and had my name on it, and if I was lucky Sister Fanny was going to let me finger-paint at some point.
~Crying every Easter when my mom forced me into an incredibly itchy dress and hat, and making me smile for the picture. Easter was awful.
~When I was really young, I didn’t get to go to the malls much because I had to be monitored constantly. I remember thinking, “Once she lets go of my hand, I’m gonna run as fast as I can THAT WAY.” If I got far enough I would hide inside one of the circular clothing racks. My poor mother had to take her shoes off and run after me yelling my name. Good times.
~My innate desire to run in any direction whenever possible almost got me hit by a car. I am told that the driver of this car was so startled after nearly hitting a little girl, he was unable to speak (let alone drive) afterwards. He simply sat in his car shaking and staring out his windshield. Poor guy! I’m so sorry..
~Playing sardines with all the cousins at holiday parties, with my dad hiding us each time.
~Football in the snow with Taylor
~Being absolutely terrified of morlocks, which haunted me always~ may have been the cause of my night terrors.
~Hanging out with uncle Lou!
~Tag with Ranger… I miss having a dog.
~I didn’t know anyone on my first-grade schoolbus, so I squeezed myself next to the bus monitor, who was a big black lady. I liked her cuz she hat lots of pretty gold teeth.
~Taylor went through a stage where he had no coordination, causing him to fall constantly (perhaps caused by a growth spurt combined with the fact he felt the need to sprint everywhere at full speed.) Several times a day you would hear a deadly “CLUNK-THU-THUD-THUD” that would scare anyone who wasn’t already aware of what it was.
~Stealing quarters from the fountain at the mall. I kid you not.
~Ballet lessons with Dee
~Being called a ditz by every elementary teacher I’ve ever had (most have since retracted these comments BTW)
~My dad making my science fair projects.
~Wondering why Taylor was so nice to me and well behaved when I… well, wasn’t.

Hahaha …Chels this page is great! I can totally picture you being a confused Kindergarten kid! “Hey I wonder what we’re all doin’ here? …Ummm Mom?…”
LOL on the itchy Easter dress!!!! Itchy dresses are the worst! I can totally picture you squirming in your seat during church and your mom telling you to sit still as you try to explain that your dress is itchy! Haha kids always lose in those battles – they always end up pouting with their arms crossed!
YES!!! A gold tooth bus monitor – priceless!
New nickname: Chelsea the fountain change bandit!
